Applegarth

A labour of love for over forty years and recently crowned best garden in Guildford. A series of outdoor rooms to my own design with wildlife at its heart. Balancing the aesthetic with a thriving, biodiverse ecosystem. It intentionally replaces chemical-heavy lawns with a rich mosaic of multi-layered habitats, successfully attracting pollinators, birds, and amphibians while offering a peaceful sanctuary for people. Core Habitats and features include water sources, bug hotels, structural planting, nectar bars, refuge and breeding zones with strict adherence to organic, pesticide-free, and peat-free gardening to protect the food chain. Upcycling and harvesting rainwater to minimise mains usage.
