New Forest Wildlife Garden
Using a neglected plot of land I was given a brief to create an intentional wilderness, striking the balance between thoughtful design and reviving local biodiversity. Transforming a barren patch of land into a thriving, self-sustaining ecosystem with life giving hydration for frogs, birds, and insects. Planting native, nectar-rich flowers and incorporating berry-bearing shrubs and trees for autumn sustenance. Providing wildlife highways, log piles in dark corners, and bug hotels made of hollow canes and twigs to offer safe winter hibernation and nesting spots. Eliminating the need for any chemicals in favour of organic methods to encourage biodiversity. Sights, sounds and the feel of a living landscape allowing people to rediscover nature in their own backyard. A mosaic of colour and safe haven for declining species.
