Surrey Autumnal Garden
Designing an autumn border is all about embracing fiery, warm tones, dramatic textures, and late-season blooms.
The ideal approach builds layered interest by combining deciduous structural shrubs, architectural evergreens, and late-flowering perennials for year round colour. The new planting scheme now has that depth of interest, with a warm colour palette, repetition and rhythm as well as the all important vertical accents. Leaving seed heads of late herbaceous perennials intact instead of deadheading them will also add its own structural interest as they frost over in late autumn. Providing food and habitat for the local wildlife.
